This is something we're investigating while designing the Squid10 note editor.
As mentioned previously, this is challenging since notes in Squid can contain both fixed and infinite sized pages, but we have some ideas to make this work that we will be exploring.

I would recommend it working like notability on apple products, it is one infinitely long page, but with the width of a sheet of A4 paper, with lines that break up the pages and when you export the note as a PDF it automatically breaks it into multiple pages so it is easier when you have to do things like homework and print it to turn it in.
