Snap To
I am loving the addition of the drawing tools. Thank-you. A natural progression would be to add a "Snap To" function to enable users to snap objects to the grid (graph paper) or objects to other objects.

Please make snap to grid

Yes please, snap to grid would cover horizontal and vertical and straight lines, and snap to corner or midpoint of another object would be awesome. It's been nine years since this was requested and it would make drawing and drafting much easier and precise.

Or the option to snap ink to the grid so we can draw complex regular shapes such as floor layouts or level designs with precision

This is the ONE feature I have been looking for since I first got my S-Pen NOONE seems to be able to implement this in ANY of the drawing/note taking apps I have found. Snap and then the ability draw straight lines on a grid would be HUGE. I would instant buy the pro version if this was a thing.

The addition of a "snap-to" positioning option could be a "must" for many. At least an improvement for sizing and alignment when using shape tools for others.
Why not after all the requests for years?
For instance, as special background grids where mouse or stylus input jumps to points on the grid. Another approach would be where input jumps to previously-drawn, non-printing, alignment guides.
In either case the function would need the option to be toggled on/off when used, like a double-tap or tap of an icon.

A snap-to feature would be great, especially for drawing lines and shapes.
It should be easy to implement like
void onMovePen(Point currentLocation)
{
Point myPoint = currentLocation;
if(snapModeEnabled())
{
myPoint.X = Round(myPoint.X / GridSize.X, 0) * GridSize.X;
myPoint.Y = Round(myPoint.Y / GridSize.Y, 0) * GridSize.Y;
}
// regular draw logic here

When it comes to the shapes (lines, squares, circles, etc.) I (and others, I'm sure) would find it extremely helpful if there was a "snap to grid" tool that is toggleable once you've switched to a paper with a grid pattern on it. This would make Squid easily one of the best note-taking apps on the platform. This is a suggestion that was handed to you almost 6 years ago. You should REALLY consider doing this sooner rather than later, because, let's face it, "later" from 6 years ago probably didn't reach this far. I really hope you choose to make this a feature within your app.

The comments are old. Snap to grid would be incredible. I have been looking for a basic app to sketch floor plans on. (Insurance Adjuster). For the iPad there is a basic app that allows for sketching on graph paper and snap to grid where you can make simple notes. Nothing on Android exists with the exception of Cad programs and those are way to bulky/complicated for what is needed. I have been paperless in everything I do except sketching. A snap to grid feature would make this app absolutely perfect. Something you can utilize when drawing lines but then can still write numbers/measurements next to the lines. I see people have requested it but is this something you would consider adding?

I see a lot of these comments are from 1-3 years ago. Is this feature offered with Squid yet? The owner of my company says it is a must have. I like Squid a lot, but before buying Premium for all our devices I wanted to make sure this feature exists for this program?

Snap to grid, with an accessible on/off toggle would make this my main notes/drawing app.

I agree that this would be a useful feature for taking class notes. It was the only feature that I felt was missing in Windows Journal Note which I used for many years. The drawing tools in Papyrus are nice, but I use sketchbook and send the image over since it is easier to draw figures in the autodesk app...for now.

Snap to grid and objects would absolutely speed up drawing and placement. I hope this is a priority for the team.

Also, it would be great if you could allow for users to set the grid size (ex. 1/4", 1/8", or
1/16") and have the Shape Tool snap to the grid points.
Agree, a much needed feature.

I am heavily missing a snap to grid and/or objects function. At it's basics it could let straight lines start and end at grid points. Apart from that I think Papyrus app has a big potential of becoming a great S-Pen enabled app.

I use Papyrus multiple times every day. The lack of this feature is what frustrates me the most. It is a challenge to line things up - images, text, etc... The ability to Snap To would make this app much more efficient.
It would be great to get a number of users to understand the value of this feature and to support it by voting.
