Sync between devices
I would like to have my notes automatically appear on my other devices with Squid installed. e.g. Create a note on device A and it appears on device B. If possible allow editing too from that device.
2,218 votesI wanted to provide an update on this in light of our recent major update to make backups work at the note level along with our new support for Google Drive. These were both major milestones on the way to support sync. Now that backups work at the note level, we plan to continue our work to build a sync solution that works across devices using cloud storage provides like Google Drive, Dropbox, and Box. The advantage to this approach is that we continue to have zero access to your note data. Everything lives on your device and your selected cloud storage provider. However, this also means the solution must be resilient to users modifying data in the cloud (intentional or not). We don't have an ETA yet, but this continues to be one of our highest priorities. We really appreciate your patience and feedback on this idea!

Fewer clicks to switch tools
I'd like to have fewer clicks to change tools. Like changing from pencil to eraser or shapes. Maybe there could be a quick change or some defaults.
To change tools, you have to
1. click the tools menu
2. Click the tab of the tool
3. Choose the specific tool
4. Click out of the menuThen, you can start using it. And that is without changing any tool options.

Quick draw / auto shape detection for lines, circles, and other shapes
Auto shape detection. This is especially very important for lines. Notability in iOS has this. If you draw a line and hold it for a second it will become a straight line that you can adjust. Simple convert to shapes will do for rest of the shapes. Best note taking app on the market, my GPA (civil engineer) went up 0.5 just thanks to you guys. Well done !

Continuous vertical scrolling (continuous page mode)
It would be nice to be able to start writing on the next page while still viewing the bottom of the previous page.
1,196 votesThis is something we're investigating while designing the Squid10 note editor.
As mentioned previously, this is challenging since notes in Squid can contain both fixed and infinite sized pages, but we have some ideas to make this work that we will be exploring.

Favorite Pens / Saved Pens / Presets
It would be nice to be able to create a pen (size & color) and then save it as a preset so I can quickly select it without having to manually adjust both the size and color every time I want to change pens.

Add more shapes
Add to existing shapes, such as arrows, curves, hexagons, and triangles.

Swipe the page to go to the next page
Allow pages to be swiped between rather than having to tap the next and previous page buttons.

Adding a search button would make things more accessible

Open multiple notes at once (e.g. tabs)
We often need to switch between notes. It would be great if we could open 2 or 3 notes at once and to switch between them using tabs or something.
Note page thumbnails should be accessible more easily like by sliding the left margin, so we can easily switch between pages.933 votesThis is something we're investigating while designing the Squid10 note editor.

Rotate objects
Please add ability to rotate selected items to various degrees (not just 90).

Customizable tool bar
It might be minor, but I wish I could customize the tool bar such that I could put frequently used things like specific color (black, red), scissor, eraser etc.. on the tool bar directly. Currently you have to click through buttons, and although it's only one or two clicks away, it does matter while you're trying to quickly annotate stuff

Smooth writing like in S Note
Add a filter similar to the one used in S Note. This app is almost perfect. When taking notes, a lot of the lines become jagged. S Note has a filter that corrects it as you write. You can see as you write in S Note, it is first jagged like it is on Papyrus then it smooths itself out to look like natural writing.

Make a paid "Pro" version of the app instead of using multiple in-app purchase for premium features.
I have no problem paying for good applications but dislike the method of using in-app purchases, as they do not stay with the application if you move to a new device, have multiple devices, or even change then ROM. If you want to see money from your development efforts, make a separate paid "Pro" version in the Google Play Market, but don't nickel and dime users with multiple in-app purchases.
701 votesThank you all for your wonderful feedback! I just wanted to set a few things straight.
First, in-app purchases are tied to your Google or Samsung account, depending on which store you downloaded Papyrus from. Purchases are automatically restored or enabled by Google Play or Samsung Apps on all devices you are signed into with that account. This means, if you get a new device, have multiple devices, or need to reinstall Papyrus, you only need to purchase the premium features once (as long as you use the same account). This is true for all applications in these stores (not just Papyrus) as it is handled by Google and Samsung. Please note, however, that it can sometimes take a little while for purchases to show up on other devices or after just installing Papyrus (usually it’s instant though).
Second, we’re always trying to figure out the best business model for…

Add "wrist check" or palm guard
I often write with a stylus, but I rest my hand on the screen. Can you add a wrist check/palm guard feature please?

Windows App
I would like to vote for resuming support for Windows devices. Squid is a great app for recording tutorial videos with a pen (just enough features, responsive, and easy to use). I realize that you have limited resources, but I wanted to put the vote out there.
528 votesWe don’t disagree that there is a market for a cross-platform handwritten note taking app! We would love for Squid to be available on all platforms. We’re a small team and we don’t currently have the resources to expand to Windows (or iOS). We hope this will change someday!

Triangle Tool
I would love if there was a triangle option in the shapes tool. I could use a right triangle tool when teaching the unit circle.

Wish there was a tool to draw curved lines
Usually the screen is too slippery to draw lines, and it usually becomes wobbly. Wish there was a tool to draw curved lines and adjust the center of the curve or sort of to draw curved lines.
