Squid looks good. But handwritten notes that cant be converted to standard text is a definite draw back.

Like many I just bought premium and realised it wasn't there so I will now be cancelling the premium and looking elsewhere. It's a shame as it's such a great app otherwise.

I have never felt as comfortable writing to screen as I do with Squid. I think, with just a few more journal entries it will feel as natural as paper. That being said, I'm still going to be doing any serious writing with my keyboard because without native OCR there're just too many steps to get from manuscript to text file. I'd actually improve my handwriting just to make it possible for Squid to read it to text. That would make an already near perfect app, just a little... hell, quite a bit closer to perfect! And the handwriting input method on Gboard does not equal OCR. It's a kludge for using a stylus to type when there is no keyboard. It's quite cumbersome to use for note taking, but a godsend when you're thoroughly frustrated with the onscreen keyboard. Still, not a replacement for OCR. Oh hell, I'd be happy (not satisfied, but happier) with a network facing non-real-time "OCR selection" option. Just don't make me save and open in another program or use the hellacious share mechanic.

My Lenovo Duet Chromebook has this natively as text input option. In addition to the pop-up keyboard, it has handwriting to text, and it works very well. In my narrow little world, this functionality isn't needed to be developed by Squid.

This is honestly the only thing keeping me from using the app. I have better apps for note taking and sketching. If this had an "export as .txt" I'd be using it all the time.

And it works beautifully. Squid is a wonderful product. Thank you. Can you integrate a writing to text feature. I would absolutely pay extra for such a feature for Squid because it works so well.

already long back when it was still called Papyrus they ignored this plea from users :(
It's a very big mistake. -

You can convert handwriting to text, if you download your document and then open it with Google Docs. It automatically converts all writing to text. I have done this successfully and the writing recognition is pretty good. It will take some editing from a formatting perspective, but its a great starting point.

All I can really say is "this". Its the one feature missing. If it existed, I would resubscribe.

Handwriting to text is the only missing feature to become the flawless app. The app is simple which makes it the best. It does not have unnecessary features which is perfect to replace a paper. But writing to text is a must.
Please add this feature as soon as possible. -

it is simply ridiculous not to have this functionality.

Yes, please! I'd totally upgrade to premium if you'd offer the handwriting to text conversion.

字体转换:建议像nebo那样可以识别笔式,把手写的文字转换成印刷字会更好

This would make this app may be the best one can get from note taking apps on android. There aren't enough good note taking apps on android and the squid offers everything but a handwriting to text conversion feature like nebo myscript would definitely give this app a complete dominance among note taking apps on android and maybe competitive enough for ios also.
