Or just the ability to be able to search handwritten notes would be sufficient for the time being.

This is something we're investigating while designing the Squid10 note editor.

Sounds fine as long as it is not forced because a zoom window is not necessary with a larger tablet.
I have tried OCR for handwriting recognition in both Evernote and Adobe however, I could not search or transkate my notes to text. Could you provide a little more detail on how you accomplished this in Evernote.
