Smooth writing like in S Note
Add a filter similar to the one used in S Note. This app is almost perfect. When taking notes, a lot of the lines become jagged. S Note has a filter that corrects it as you write. You can see as you write in S Note, it is first jagged like it is on Papyrus then it smooths itself out to look like natural writing.

Bump, it is very important and the crooked lining takes it's tool on a very good app, which is perfect besides that

I really wanted to use Squid notes on my Huawei Mediapad M5 Lite but just because of the squiggly lines I opted for another app. Samsung Tab series don't seem to have the same problem. I don't know if it is due to the pen difference or anything else but it is annoying to not have smooth lines.

Like the procreate,it would allow users to have better control of their handwriting. Straightens lines and makes it easier for beginners to learn how to write using a stylus.

Bumping this. This is quite important to me.

It would be great to have a stabilizer like on Ibis paint app (it's for drawing, but still a great feature) so the lines would be more "right" and less shaky.

As another data point, this issue still exists in May 2020. I wonder if the kind of stylus technology used makes a difference. I used a Wacom AES 1.0 Pen (Wacom Bamboo Ink 2nd Gen) on my Pixel Slate, and the results were quite acceptable. However, I switched to a newer Wacom AES 2.0 pen (HP Active Pen G2) since I wanted something with tilt support, and now the lines are noticeably more jagged and annoying.
Another related issue: the line width scales very dramatically with pressure on my AES 2.0 pen to the point that it looks very unprofessional. The AES 2.0 tech allows more pressure sensitivity (4096 levels instead of 2048) too, so theoretically things should be better not worse.

I've been using and paying for this app for half a year now and this is the thing that's very annoying in this app. The text just doesn't look as nice as it should and it seems that it is an old problem. I'm thinking of buying an iPad just to get away from this. Please fix it!

I just started to taking notes using Squid for my students after 4 months break. I thought that this issue (jagged lines) is past. Actually I have to back to InkRedible or S Note cause my notes looks bad and unnaturally. I use Samsung Tab S4 so my device is not so old I hope. Is there any possibility to solve this issue?

Individual strokes appear to be points connected by straight lines. The resulting writing is jagged. Rounding the corners of each line may be an easy solution to improve the handwriting to be comparable with apps like notability, bamboo, or noteshelf

Please increase the resolution and smoothness of the ink. Like in "Microsoft's OneNote" ink is smooth but in Squid it has rough edges. It's like there is no anti-aliasing, the ink looks bad. Other than this the app is great.

hey why so ignorant? so many people complain about this issue since 2014, and you are not even reacting or giving some information on this topic. Your app is really the best on the android market, but i am also getting extremly annoyed by the jagged lines. it is clearly to see even if you zoom to 200%. give us some smoothiness, comeon man

I completely agree. I like this app a lot, but there is something that feels so much better when using the built in Samsung note app. It just writes, feels, and looks so much cleaner and better

I genuinely do not understand this request, is it a problem that just affected older versions?
I got a Pixel Slate a few months ago and since then, this app has blown me away with how good handwriting feels with it. It feels as natural as paper to me and is responsive enough that I can lock the zoom at 100% on an 8 1/2 x 11 page and legibly write within the lines with the college ruled background. Not between two lines, inside of one of the blue lines. I just don't understand how it could get any smoother, especially since the Slate tends to lag a little bit with most Android apps.

Are you implementing this? I will buy INKredible only for this

I can just repeat what others wrote earlier:handwriting looks really awkward, it feels completely unnatural for me, so I use Ink instead. Drawing, active pen support is much better in here, but the fact that I cannot take notes as naturally as with Ink, completely ruins the experience for me...

i agree, the writing just doesn't look goog - it looks like some straight lines stitched together.
This is the reason I dont't use squid - although the rest of the app is really great actually... -

The fountain pen effect in INKredible is awesome. Makes my writing look 100% better. I don't know about line smoothing, but something like the fountain pen effect would be great!

Yep comparing to OneNote, Samsung's writing and marking apps, and Inkcredible, writing on Squid is nowhere as smooth. Too often the strokes are turned into a bunch of connected straight lines instead of smooth curve. Maybe this helps the app perform fast, but idk. I agree that we should have smoother handwriting.
