  1. Enhance text tool with text wrapping, direct input, and resizable text boxes

Need text input directly on page instead of the pop out input box. Also need text wrapping for smaller sheet formats for those who type as well as write notes. I would gladly pay the fee for that but not the current input

Text tool now supports in-line editing, text wrapping, and resizable text boxes!

When adding new text, the text is automatically wrapped when the cursor reaches the edge of the screen or page.

Pasting text from the clipboard also wraps the text at the edge of the screen/page, based on the current zoom level.

After resizing the width of a text box, the text always wraps at the edge of the box.

    Squid 3.5.0

  2. Manually set backup and export to pdf time

Unless I missed the setting... my export starts during a class while I'm taking notes and freezes. Would be awesome if I could select a time to start the export!

  3. fix or update to work on Windows 10

I updated my Surface to Windows 10, and didn't realize this would break my premium features. I considered re-purchasing (loved the app), but the link to the store is broken.

This app was used every day -- I've switched to One Note for now (ugh), but the more notes I build in OneNote, the less likely I am to go back to Papyrus.

Update: Squid is no longer available on Windows (it was removed some time ago). We hope we can bring Squid back to Windows someday, but right now we’re focused on Android and Chromebook support.

    Previous response:
This issue was not related to Windows 10. Papyrus (now called Squid) was removed from the Windows Store due to a trademark issue (see http://feedback.squidnotes.com/knowledgebase/articles/716574 for more info). Squid is now back in the Windows Store, and your premium features should be working again. I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused!

  5. import pdf pages into actual note.

Currently the way to import pdf's is by importing the whole pdf which starts a new note. A better implementation would be to create a note then import the pdf and be able to select pages you wish to be imported. This way multiple different pdf's and selected pages can be imported into one note file.

You can now insert any number of PDFs into an existing note (whether or not it was created from a PDF originally)! To do so, long press on the current page number, then choose Insert PDF. We’re still working on improving the discoverability of this feature, as well as the ability to only choose certain pages from a PDF when inserting it. For now, you can delete any pages you do not want after inserting the PDF (although this is still fairly tedious since we don’t yet have bulk delete).

  6. Enable S-Pen eraser at top

    I use this pen: ET-S200EBEGSTD
At the end of the pen there is a eraser.

Is there a way to make that work? It´s far more intuitive, when you just turn the pen to erase something.

This has been a long time feature of Squid. If an active pen, such as a Samsung S Pen, has an eraser end or tip it should behave as an eraser in Squid. Some active pens do not report the eraser tip as an eraser, but instead as a side button. Both the eraser end and side button(s) can be configured in the Squid settings. Please check out this help article for details: https://help.squidnotes.com/article/777-how-do-i-configure-my-active-pen-stylus

If your pen's eraser end does not work as expected in Squid, please reach out to us at help@squid.app so we can troubleshoot.

  7. Choose a default page size

I have a preffered page size that I want for all of my notebooks. Right now i have to go to settings and change the page size for EACH new page I add, that is painful.

  8. View all pages mode

Add some sort of mode to quickly view & navigate all pages in a note. Helps with notes with more than 10 pages – maybe make it look like a contact sheet or Google Books navigation.

  9. Share Intent for Android version

Android version needs to enable Share intent, so other apps can share content into Papyrus.

  10. Bring back the "duplicate" button

After the update to material design when an item is selected there is no "duplicate" opción in the menú, now you have to make copy then paste.

  11. Add the page select way as typing the page number, not scrolling

Please add page select as type the page number not scrolling.

When i see pdf over 500 pages, i should touch right arrow over 100 times or scroll the page number chart so long time.

I wish i can reach the page at once as type the page number.

Thanks for good writing app Papyrus with good luck for everyone.

You can now type in a page number from the keyboard to jump to a specific page. To do this, tap the current page number to bring up the jump to page dialog, then tap the current page number and the keyboard will appear. Enter in the page number you want to jump to, then press Done/Ok on your keyboard and choose Ok on the dialog.

  12. Modern app for Windows 8

Modern app for Windows 8. This app would be great on tablets with pen capabilities (i.e. Surface Pro 2 and 3). It would be a perfect fit.

Papyrus is now available for Windows 8.1! You can download it from the Windows Store: http://apps.microsoft.com/windows/en-us/app/papyrus-natural-note-taking/6292be27-81ee-4f93-9673-c02ca3fefea3

If you have both a Windows Phone and Windows tablet, your premium features will be unlocked on both devices!

  13. Allow cloud backups to work on a note-by-note basis (incremental backups)

Currently, cloud backup saves one single file to my Dropbox account. If I have a few large notes (containing annotated photos, for example) my database can quickly get HUGE, and every backup session takes forever (or fails, very frequently). It would be great if Squid could do incremental backups so only new or updated notes will be uploaded to the cloud.

A major update to cloud backup is now available to everyone on Google Play! Backups are now created at the note level, meaning only the notes that were created or edited since the last backup will be uploaded to the cloud. As a result, backups are now MUCH faster and can easily resume after being interrupted.

This has been a long time coming, so thanks for your patience. Please try it out and let us know if you have any feedback!

  15. Quick Tools

More functionality for the S Pen button. When you click the S Pen button, a little tool box should pop up close to the position of the pen. The tool box should have your most recent colors and custom pens/writing tools.

  16. Add the ability to backup, export, and/or save to SD card

With the costs of micro SD card very cheap, this would be an option that would be of use to the average user.

Papyrus 2.0 is rolling out with the ability to create and restore backups locally to your device or SD card. Just open the Papyrus settings and choose “Backup and restore” then “Local backup”. In addition, when exporting individual notes to PDF, PNG, or JPEG, you can choose “Save to device” to save the exported note to your device or SD card.

  17. Give the option to choose language in-app

With the newest version of the app, I was forced into having it in my native language. It's not a matter of translation quality, I simply like my software in either the original language it was built in or specifically in English. I didn't find a way to have it back in English and I think it could be a good addition to have a language setting in the options.

  18. Better note organization: sub-notebooks/folders

Provide a way to better organize notes, beyond the current notebook organization. This could be done with nested notebooks or folders, labels for notes, sections, chapters, etc.
