Just like myscript Nebo. It'll be one for all app for every note taker.

This app is awesome and it can compete with almost any app on android. If there is handwritten to text support similar to myscript Nebo then it's super cool. Like after writing whole paragraph it's converted to text or after writing words conversion to text. I think myscript provide their handwriting to text plugins to different apps for development.

I just got a Chromebook plus and assumed Squid had OCR which was the reason I subscribe to it. Without OCR I am considering removing it as the whole purpose of both the Chromebook plus and getting Squid was to take notes in meetings and change them to text to save the pdf. I highly encourage the creators to consider this. It is clear chromebooks and other devices are going to allow for pen interfaces and this can already be seen. My son as an example got rid of his Macbook and loves his Chromebook plus which as he stated works as good or better and avoid dozens of Apple OS updates that take forever.

Allow to select a manuscript paragraph and convert it into text.

This is what I thought Squid WAS when I first installed it. You broke my basic expectations by not doing this.
Without the ability to turn my handwriting into text, Squid becomes a dead-end in my task-flow. I can't take take what I've written and insert it into a Google doc (as editable content, not as a graphic), I can't send it as an email, etc.
Squid is broken without this!

convert handwritten notes to text would be essential...since Google Keep has already added that functionality

Search feature in pdf's that are imported.

Great app. It would be nice to have the functions of Myscript Smart note into Squid: text recognition without pop ups, text over the lines, go to next line when finish the actual line, equations, export to (save as) latex.

Personally, I don't think this is necessary because the play store already offers some handwriting-to-text keyboards.

Handwriting recognition for both converting-to-text and searching notes would make me use Papyrus.
I like Papyrus's interface better than S-Note (on my Note 10.1 - 2014 edition), but S-note allows me to search my notes, so I use that. -

Unnecessary in my view. Stylus Beta works great. I use it with Papyrus.

l Bought a tablet for this Idea alone. It would make taking notes and studying so much easier.

I wanna replace S-Note, as S-Note is a more closed environment. Then OCR is the keyword.

It is easier to hand write the notes, but I have to turn in the notes weekly. The converter allows me to copy and paste the notes into the format required for the turn in.

Is this something you would want to use through a cloud service? Where you send the image and get the text back?
