Faster photo insertion with two separate buttons
Please consider an option that allows splitting the "add image" button into two separate buttons, "add from camera" and "add from gallery".
The reason I'm so picky about saving one click is, I'm using Squid to take notes during conferences, lectures or meetings, which I believe is a very common use case among Squid users. During note taking the person controlling the presentation will not wait for me to capture those photos. The faster I can get to the camera app, the more likely I'll actually be able to catch that specific slide I need.
On a related note, when…

Allow editing of files in place, without making copies
I want to open a PDF in Google Drive, annotate it, and then save that file back to Google Drive without creating a new file, and having one file annotated with notes and the other plain. iAnnotate on the iPad does this and it was an integral part of my workflow as a teacher, and I'm really missing this on a Chromebook.

jump to next annotation
when making notes on a large pdf (like a book, when studying, or a contract) it would help a lot to have a button to just jump to next annotation you have made.
That way you can quickly jump over large amount of pages to quickly review just the parts you have marked, without reading the whole thing again.
It could be similar to word, where you can jump from change to next change.5 votes -

Pen thickness should be remembered for each paper size separately.
Pen thickness should be remembered for each paper size separately.
I write my own notes on A3 paper and use a 1mm pen. However, when annotating pdfs the size is A4 in then I have to switch to 0.7mm. In some classes I do both and the switching is annoying.

Auto eliminate (or archive) notes by date passed.
I take notes for events that occur in a certain date. I always forget to erase the notes after the event has ended, so I end up with an excess of notes.
It would be awesome (and I would pay for) the chance of setting an "end date" when creating the note and choosing whether to automatically erase or archive it after the "end date" passes.5 votes
