I wanted to provide an update on this in light of our recent major update to make backups work at the note level along with our new support for Google Drive. These were both major milestones on the way to support sync. Now that backups work at the note level, we plan to continue our work to build a sync solution that works across devices using cloud storage provides like Google Drive, Dropbox, and Box. The advantage to this approach is that we continue to have zero access to your note data. Everything lives on your device and your selected cloud storage provider. However, this also means the solution must be resilient to users modifying data in the cloud (intentional or not). We don't have an ETA yet, but this continues to be one of our highest priorities. We really appreciate your patience and feedback on this idea!

I have been waiting for this feature for a very long time, and honestly, it is disappointing that it still has not been implemented.

Squid is my favorite app for taking handwritten notes with a pen. No other app comes close to it in that area. However, this feature is critical for my workflow, and the lack of it is costing me productivity. Because of that, I am switching to Samsung Notes until this is resolved.

I understand there may be technical challenges, especially if you are trying to stay true to your mission. But I believe there are different ways to approach this. Several users have already shared suggestions where, even within the current structure, you could provide a semi-sync feature through changes in behavior and UI.

I really hope this feature gets serious attention soon, or that a quick temporary remedy can be provided until a full solution is ready.

It’s still on our todo list to support this directly, but I wanted to mention that it’s currently possible to password protect a note in a roundabout way: by importing a password protected PDF into the note. This will password protect the note with the password of the PDF. You can even delete the PDF from the note and the password will remain on the note.
