This is something we're investigating while designing the Squid10 note editor.

In immersive mode, the controls that would need easy access are writing/erasing with a pen, and advancing (or going back) pages. None of these should need visible UI components.

More than not accidentally pressing buttons, this would be great for presentations (don't want the UI cluttering what the audience sees).

This is especially important when using the tablet to present slides -- projectors often don't have great resolution, so using all available screen real estate is crucial.

Also: drawing/erasing with a pen, as well as advancing pages, should work in full screen (with no need for an always-visible UI component for either).
