Sync between devices
I would like to have my notes automatically appear on my other devices with Squid installed. e.g. Create a note on device A and it appears on device B. If possible allow editing too from that device.
I wanted to provide an update on this in light of our recent major update to make backups work at the note level along with our new support for Google Drive. These were both major milestones on the way to support sync. Now that backups work at the note level, we plan to continue our work to build a sync solution that works across devices using cloud storage provides like Google Drive, Dropbox, and Box. The advantage to this approach is that we continue to have zero access to your note data. Everything lives on your device and your selected cloud storage provider. However, this also means the solution must be resilient to users modifying data in the cloud (intentional or not). We don't have an ETA yet, but this continues to be one of our highest priorities. We really appreciate your patience and feedback on this idea!

Same issue. Can't believe I'm paying for premium and all my school notes are in one place on one device. Really crap I can't use it on multiple. I'll find something else to use.

Why don't squid has facilitis like onedrive. So all the motes will be available in all devices. And pretty much make the work easy for anyone.

Until sync is available with Squid I am using Google's new PWA called Cursive. It is basic but robust and, most importantly, allows me to create and view my notes on all my devices.

It has now been 3 years. Any ETA on this ?

I was looking forward to this app but not having the sync feature is a deal breaker.

Such a contradiction: on the one hand one of the world's best note apps and on the other hand no synchronization between devices. Why?

Agree. Sync needed. Brilliant app. Simple and very powerful, but needs more input. More choice of nibs and a dropper type colour pick up function like ms paint. Would love an Evernote relationship, or google drive or ms..
Very fast on my Samsung note 6. Pen works amazing. I can't stop doodling.
Also great on S21 Samsung phone -

I love the squid app! I am forced to use other tools because of this missing sync feature.
If it would encourage the developers, how about fund raising? -

Syncing information between devices is crucial for my work. I want to be able to work on my tablets then view and edit on my phone.

Another vote for sync!
A simple solution: use Google Drive as the default storage location. There can still be concurrency issues when one device is offline - allow the option of 'merging to existing document' or 'creating new copy'. This is a solvable problem.
I would also appreciate being able to export and import notes (not just pdf). This would enable sharing _editable_ notes with colleagues.

Ask the guys at InkPad. It works flawless there. They don't do what Squid does but they locked down the sync issue. 🙂

I understand that syncing is difficult with potential concurrent edits. But while you are working on this high priority, perhaps you could at least provide easy workarounds. Like, being able to export a note, send it to another device and import it there - not as a pdf as but as proper squid note.
Or even just save the backup on a per-notebook or per-note basis, so one could manually copy some part to another device's backup. There are many things that have nothing to do with the inherent difficulty of syncing that would at least make it possible to get a note from one device to another somehow. -

I am a premium user and am waiting for this feature! If it was a high priority two years ago, what happened?

Not having sync between devices is the only reason I personally don't use squid regularly and pay for premium. Our school would love to use it as well but kids would lose their notes regularly so it is a deal breaker. Also, this doesn't seem like a high priority for you. By now you could have re-written the app from scratch 7x over.

Just in case it hasn't been said: maybe a very simple implementation of this is to add two things to the app:
1. An option to increase the backup rate of the built in "paid" sync option, or a "backup now" button.
2. The ability for the app to look at a backup on Dropbox (or other) and determine if that file is newer; if so, to update the locally stored file to the latest version. The only downside is that it's not a fully automated system, and doesn't happen in "realtime"; it would require the user to at least perform a single input when switching between devices, and you would only be able to use one device at a time; BUT it's a simple solution for now that makes use of the functionality already built into the app.

Please continue to place this as HIGH PRIORITY. It is disappointing that Squid notes can't be used /appear on other devises! This is where the app fails and lacks! It's a real ashame
