Dark theme
Implement a dark theme, preferably black using grey text, as this can make a lot of difference in the battery life of devices with an OLED screen, because pixels get turned off when displaying black.
🌑 Dark theme is now available in Squid10! 🌑
The Squid10 Preview is now available to everyone. Browse notes and folders in dark theme. Dark theme support will continue as we finish migrating all parts of Squid to the new Squid10 design (such as the note editor).
To enable dark theme, update to the latest version of Squid and tap "Try Squid10".
For dark mode in the note editor, we created a new idea. If you're interested in this feature, we'd love your vote and feedback.

I'd already be happy with a dark mode for the squid UI only.

It could be great to have a Dark Mode. A dark mode which could switch from white background to a black background, and switch all the tools accordingly to the black background (I mean eraser, and grid background line, etc. ). Because my eyes sometimes get very tired with a white background. And for an amoled display, It could also spare a lot of power in this mode.
The dark mode would not affect the printing output which wouldnt change (white background when printing a note) It would only affect the user interface. -

@Mayle: I would hope that this only applies to our android devices and that the software is smart enough to flip the colours back to black on white if we exported to PDF. Dark Mode would help us save on power while making notes and make the program much easier on the eyes. This is a must-have for me.

You can already do that by selecting a blank page and then choose background color. With that said, allowing a global dark theme on backgrounds with grid lines would be better.

If you can implement dark mode with different color options like white and yellow will do the difference. You can think of different color options for pages. Just try as a trail and test them.

Would really be nice to see an implementation of this along the lines of Xodo's, with a widget that toggles between the two modes. (Manually changing the background/color and text color is inconvenient.)

The pdf import function works great. However, being a long time acrobat user, and a night person with concerns for eye health, i would appreciate if you could add a night theme options while working on imported pdf documents. I believe it will greatlyincrease app productivity, and minimize the need to third party blue light filtering apps.

Samsung just included it in their Galaxy Tab S3. You can take a note while the tablet is in suspend mode. The device stays black, the text is grey.... the resulting document is inverted... black text over white background.
I use my tablet to take notes in meetings, l don't turn it off.... having a white background drains my battery.
I like squid more than Samsung notes....please, add a black display option available in squid....I would pay to have that option like I did to get your other options. -

I agree with you guys!! we could sure use a black background, it would save power on all devices and make it much , much better to read and write on papyrus. white page colors draw alot of power and make the screen bright and hot!!
I get sweaty palms after resting it on my screen for a while as it's turned into a flat bright light. -

If you want this app to be used for serious brain storming, you need this feature. When ideas come in the dark of the night, a bright screen is just too much distraction.
