Sync between devices
I would like to have my notes automatically appear on my other devices with Squid installed. e.g. Create a note on device A and it appears on device B. If possible allow editing too from that device.
I wanted to provide an update on this in light of our recent major update to make backups work at the note level along with our new support for Google Drive. These were both major milestones on the way to support sync. Now that backups work at the note level, we plan to continue our work to build a sync solution that works across devices using cloud storage provides like Google Drive, Dropbox, and Box. The advantage to this approach is that we continue to have zero access to your note data. Everything lives on your device and your selected cloud storage provider. However, this also means the solution must be resilient to users modifying data in the cloud (intentional or not). We don't have an ETA yet, but this continues to be one of our highest priorities. We really appreciate your patience and feedback on this idea!

Don't care about the data usage....atleast give us a raw feature first, make it wifi only.....

Greetings from a former Cal Poly Pomona prof! Squid is great, but please please please, bring on sync! With the proliferation of devices, it's essential.

Would be great to see this update soon. I have a Samsung Chromebook for school, a Galaxy Note 10.1 for easy access, and a Pixel 2. It would be nice to be able to rely solely on squid. At minimal I would enjoy the auto back-up to be less than 6 hours. Maybe more like 5 min to a half hour and then some easy tool on the main screen to restore the back-up to other devices. I've been a Premium Subscriber for over a year and, while I love the app, syncing is the only thing it lacks!

Given we live in the age of the cloud and syncronised devices this is a must have. I use a Note 8 and a Tab S4 as my daily drivers and not having the simple ability to sync between them is a real pain. It doesn't help that I do not use Dropbox or Box so having them as the only 2 cloud export targets is really a missed opportunity. I'd have no problem moving to Premium if that was the only way to get this critical feature but until then, I'll save my money for apps that actually make my daily workload easier, not harder.

I get that it's difficult to provide sync, but the LACK of effort to even STREAMLINE the process of BACKUP and RESTORE is infuriating.
You guys need to take that process out of the settings and put it into the UI of the notes.
There should be some sort floating button that I can hit before I close the app and I would then hit that same button when I open the app restore to the latest version.
It's not that hard. I realize my tone is harsh, but like many others, I love the no lag writing experience... BUT the more I use the app, the more aggravated I get. I know file sizes get large, but I (Like many others who have tried everything to keep using this app) archive notes I don't need anymore as PDF's in dropbox or google drive. So file size should not be an issue.
Just... please please please streamline the backup and restore process!

"And, while I love Squid, the lack of Google Drive support makes syncing my handwritten keepsakes a bit of a pain. I’ve forgotten to set up syncing multiple times and lost meeting notes just as many times. Sure, I switch Chromebooks more than most, but with everything else that auto-saves in my Google-dominated universe, I have a hard time remembering to manually set up syncing with Squid and it bites me sometimes." - https://chromeunboxed.com/news/chrome-canvas-draw-chromebook-google-web-app/

At least let us save edited or currently editing notes to our own cloud services Dropbox and Google Drive for multi device support please.

I don't understand how it could take this long to implement this?? I mean if Google, Microsoft, Apple, for example, can implement auto sync between devices, why can't you as well? If you can't figure out how to do it then outsource it to someone else who can. Collab with Google to implement it even. Something!

This would be great because I am always going between my Google Pixelbook and my Google Pixel 2 XL and I am used to the Google system where everything automatically syncs as you are updating it at that very moment. Please add this feature!!!

I finally thought I'd found a note app that worked and then realised it has no concept of accounts or syncing. Gutted.
Don't overcomplicate the requirement, you don't need to merge conflicting edits as the first step, just sync docs and only allow them to be open on one at any time.
If squid supported sync and eventually live collaboration it would win hands down.

Bamboo Paper does this very well. However, that note taking app is far inferior to Squid. This is only weak link as it relates to this app ( but it is a big weakness ). I used the app on my Note 9 and my Tab S3. Works really, really well on both. Dave.

I am switching to Notebook by the zoho corporation. They offer syncing between devices and I can import a picture of a template and write on top of it just like squid. The lag is very minimal. I can group notes inside a file/Notebook and I can even lock a whole Notebook or just a file.
One thing I can't do is write on a PDF, but converting a template to jpeg is fine with me and there are plenty of PDF annotation apps out there for when I need to fill out a form.
So long Squid.

Looking for something similar to OneNote. I know it's tough with all the pdfs etc. but that's why you guys are called developers man! You solve shit like this. Do it quick. I pay for this service and I'm thinking of cancelling my subscription just because of this.
Syncing in between devices is a must have. I want to see my pdf edits and notes in my phone {OnePlus 6} after I edit them on Tab S4.
Everytime I have to sync to dropbox and restore it as a whole new file...from scratch, and this takes a lot of time now that I have a lot of pdfs imported. Not wasting my time was the moto of using tab, squid in the first place. Please guys bring this feature real quic

Just discovered WriteBeta application which has a direct access to filesystem and the ability to save/load notes as a single HTML file. This file may be placed on GoogleDrive or Syncthing-managed folder to do the syncronization. Until Squid doesn't support similar feature, I better give a try to WriteBeta.
Good luck.

First please solve Google drive, Dropbox, one drive synch and forget about concurrency. Just lock notebook if someone is editing it. Cloud sync is really important to me.
