Support for Google Drive is now in Beta on Google Play, along with a major update to cloud backup ( https://papyrus.uservoice.com/forums/177239/suggestions/5629047 ) ! Backups are now created at the note level, meaning only the notes that were created or edited since the last backup will be uploaded to Drive. As a result, backups are now MUCH faster and can easily resume after being interrupted.

We’ve been piloting backup to Drive with schools over the last several months. We still have a few more things to do before we roll it out to Beta. This has been a long time coming, so thanks for your patience, and we’re really excited to get your feedback!

I understand that this does not meet everyone’s needs. Adding support for Google Drive to the automatic backup options is something we continue to investigate.

Please encourage your favorite cloud storage provider (i.e. Google Drive) to fully support the Android Storage Access Framework (as stated in the above letter). This will not only help us to better support backup and restore to ANY cloud app, but will help the ecosystem as a whole.
