I’ve been looking into the practical side of moving company files from Google Drive to OneDrive, and one thing has become clear: the actual transfer is only one part of the project. Before starting a Google Drive to OneDrive Migration, there are several things that should probably be checked to avoid problems later.

Storage is an obvious starting point. Large collections of videos, images, archives, and documents can consume significant OneDrive space, so checking the destination capacity before transferring anything seems important. This is why I’m trying to compare different ways to migrate data from Google Drive to OneDrive. Maintaining the existing folder hierarchy is particularly important because employees need to find their documents after the transition without having to reorganize everything from scratch.

I also came across the SysInfo Google Drive Migrator Tool during my research. Its listed capabilities include transferring files and folders to OneDrive, preserving hierarchy, removing duplicates, applying date and file-extension filters, and creating custom destination folder names.

I’m not specifically looking for a sales recommendation, though. I’d rather hear from people who have handled an actual Google Drive-to-OneDrive project. Did you perform a test migration before moving everything? How did you verify that files were not missing afterward? Also, did you encounter any problems with Google Workspace files, duplicate documents, or large media files?
