Better note organization: sub-notebooks/folders
Provide a way to better organize notes, beyond the current notebook organization. This could be done with nested notebooks or folders, labels for notes, sections, chapters, etc.
📁 Folders are now available in Squid10! 📁
The Squid10 Preview is now available to everyone. Notebooks are now folders and folders can now be nested! Folders can also be moved to, and restored from, Trash.
To use folders, update to the latest version of Squid and tap "Try Squid10".
For tags/labels, we created a new idea. If you're interested in this feature, we'd love your vote and feedback.

Folders, subfolders, notebooks to the molds of the lecturenotes, with color and title, would be perfect, wonderful.

Being a perfectionist is fine and all... but this is taking a bit too long, guys. It seems to be requested as a #1 priority issue for 6 years now.
I really want to support this app and use it as my primary note-taking app. But the more I use it the worse this flaw impacts you. It punishes those the most who use your app the most.

Use Write-On-PDF (by Samsung) app and use own device's file system to save in folders / subfolders. Have been using Sqid (Papyrus) since its introduction. Doesn't appear to be any intention on the part of Sqid to add a subfolder feature.

Folders so that different notebooks can be organized. It would be useful for so many reasons! (Heres one: Dividing different module's notebooks into one subject folder)

Can't help but notice that this still isn't a thing, over 5 years later. Andrew... If you're reading this, put it on github! Let us help you! Having a small team doesn't matter because you have US. You're Community!

How is this not a thing? And how is it taking you so long to implement this? All you need is the ability to make some subfolders. I'm a new premium user but i will stop using the app if this is not solved soon, because it makes this a nightmare

ficaria bem melhor se tivesse a opção de criar pastas de arquivos para ficar mais organizado os cadernos.

I answered that any kind of sub-folder organization is better than none. Hope this could be delivered soon, though i would not bet on it.

I received an answer from the developer. Thanks Andrew.
Hi Erickson,
Thanks for contacting us. I'm sorry for the lack of response on the feedback site. We're definitely not ignoring your feedback, it's super helpful. We're aware that providing a better way to organize notes is currently the most voted idea. This is something we've been investigating for a while. One problem is that there's not a clear solution. The two most obvious solutions are nested folders or labels/tags. They both have their strengths and weaknesses. We've also explored many other solutions (e.g. nested labels, notebook sections, etc.). Unfortunately, no matter what we choose, we're not going to make everyone happy.
I'm a perfectionist, which unfortunately means that I often take a long time to get something implemented because I want to make sure it's the best possible decision/solution. There are a lot of consequences that arise from adding nesting, labels, etc., especially with regards to other features we want to have, such as sync.
All that said, this is definitely something that is a high priority, but I don't know yet when we'll have an update. We've got a lot of different things going on right now and we're a pretty small team (right now it's just me full-time).
Please let me know if you have any other questions or comments. If you want to provide any additional details about what you think is the best solution for organizing notes, I'd be happy to hear it.
Andrew

I come back here once in semester to see if this thread got at least a response from developers but it's no use. Why don't guys simply answer us here? That's a total absurd and the reason why I do not use this app anymore. I suggest the more than a 1000 people that tagged this idea do the same. Shame on you developers.

You know what would be a GREAT gift?! Sub-notebooks!!!!! This is, by far, the MOST used app on ALL my devices. It's the one I couldn't do without. But it's becoming more of a pain in the ass to use because finding and organizing notes gets more difficult!

Please GOD YESSS!!!! I am now at over 100 notes and it's so hard to keep things organized. Then I have notes for my primary university where I work that I want to keep separate from the university I adjunct with separate from my personal notes separate from church notes. While sure I can give each a tag but there is nothing that color codes or truly separates notes.
