Backup notes to the cloud
Backup notes to cloud based services such as Dropbox and Box.
Backup and restore capabilities were added as an in-app purchase in Papyrus 0.2.3 released on Google Play today.

Is the 'backup on Wireless only' option reliable across devices and OS versions? I've had it checked but am surprised to see that ppyrus has used 1.3x my plan's monthly maximum since I activated backups a month ago.

Any plans for this to be implemented with google drive?

We agree with you all! We do have plans to add syncing capabilities, although this is a much more difficult problem to solve.
The new features allow you to create a backup file of all your notes and save them to a specific device folder in Dropbox or Box. Then, you can restore a particular backup for a device (or on another device) if you have performed a factory reset, uninstalled the app, or deleted notes you didn't mean to. At this time you have to restore all your notes at once to the previous state. You can setup a backup interval to keep your backup in Dropbox and/or Box up-to-date.
In addition, you can export all your notes as PDFs to Dropbox and Box either manually or at a set interval as well. This will keep a copy of all your notes available on any device that can view PDFs and has access to your Dropbox/Box account.
Since many people are using Papyrus for important notes they don't want to lose, we wanted to provide a way to make those notes more secure. We will continue to improve this process and our goal for the future is to provide full sync capabilities between your various devices and the cloud.
Please continue to submit, voting up, and commenting on ideas about cloud/device syncing!

You don't have to reinvent the wheel. Just a quick tutorial on where to point dropbox to keep the raw note files in sync. So I can quickly rotate between tablet and phone.
LOVE YOUR APP!!!

+1 for Haris , plus it could be very generic if you can set an option to automatically convert your notes into png or jpg bitmap format when inotes are saved to this user accessible directory

That's good. But also it will be nice if Papyrus can save its data in user accessible directory for direct backups too.

I agree that "backup" is not really hwat we need. True sync (like the Dropbox app) so that the latest documents is always in whatever device I am opening the file from.

Agreed with Jack. Maybe this suggestion was just not worded well, but syncing with the cloud makes which device you're using irrelevant. Enter a note on your phone in the morning, open up your tablet in the afternoon and the note is there, edit it, and the next morning your work from both sessions is in the same document.
Cloud synch makes Papyrus a document-centered app.
Simply backing up to the cloud is nice, but it hardly affects my workflow. Papyrus needs to be able to transparently import those cloud backups, and that is synchronization.

Syncing across multiple devices is more important and actually accomplishes the backup at the same time.

This is very important. It is great that you are already working on it.
I noticed that Adobe reader has already got something like this working. When I open a pdf file from dropbox and then edit it in Adobe reader it gets saved back to the dropbox and automatically syncs with all my devices.
