Allow importing an image as a page background
Import an image and use it as a page background.
Please comment here how you would expect this to work. An image doesn’t have an inherent size. Would you want the page size to match the dimensions of the image exactly? Or would you want the page size to be a standard size with the image fit to it as best as possible (with blank space around the image)? Or something else?

stretch to the page size.

I suggest maybe make the size, a standard 8x11 and stretch the image if possible.

I woud like it to worke live pdf scan Apps for mobile phones but wit direkt import as background becaus that woud save very much time in school if you get the worksheets only as an "real" paper not as an PDF.
If this funktion woud be a option in the Picture import menu it woud be great.
Example for PDF Scanner: Microsoft office lens ; Adobe scan ... -

I get around this by importing a PDF of the background, then duplicating the page a bunch of times. I create the PDF by printing it to the page size I use, usually Letter. It resizes nicely to write on the screen, and looks good when printed. So, adding an option to import page background as PDF would be ideal for me.
I keep finding more uses for Squid every day! Keep up the good work!!

I would like to use a custom background for notes and ability to use standard-sized pdf to be imported as the background and write notes on top of it. Imagine like importing kind of letterhead or pre-formatted form and fill it on squid.

I have an app on an old tablet that allows this and when you import the image, it requires you to crop it to fit the size of the note. That obviously wouldn't work for infinite notes, but maybe it could be implemented for notes with defined page sizes?

I would like to see a PDF imported as a background, so it can be easily used on multiple pages. The PDF page size would be the only page size that could be used.
I.e. Similar to your Cornell templates which are set to be US letter size only. -

Hello
My friends use a ipad with the app goodnotes5. This app has a feature, in which you can use the camera and use the taken photo as a new page. It behaves like a pdf. This would be pretty useful because our school is still not all digital. -

If it was possible to lock a page size/view to prevent unintended scrolling, then it would be great to have the option to bring in a custom page background template at a fixed size.
Giving us the option of a fixed page size, or a page background that tiles and repeats if you choose to scroll and expand the document would be ideal. -

I have a planner layout I'd like to import or sometimes a prompt that needs repeating

For me, this could be a PDF, to import forms to be filled out. It would also be helpful to have a custom template of 5 PDFs (Or backgrounds) In order

For PDF oder JPEG I would NOT suggest to strech the template.
The user should be responsible to provide a correct image size - meaning the importet PDF/JPEG is providing the later size of the virtual paper. -

I want New backgrounds by an jpg or PDF filés. Actually, squid only have a few backgrounds. We want New backgrounds, not so Engineering or Lines or Planner's List

Both options sound interesting. To import an image and have a page the same size as the image would be more useful to me, as the other is already existing. The only problem is, that you could accidentally select the image while working on the document, so I suggest an option to "manage background" where you can pick a standard background or place an image (or multiple).
I suppose this would result in a "do stuff as usual" and a "manage the images on the page" mode, where the images of the later one are inaccessible in the first one. -

Show the picture with a resizable wireframe to allow a portion of the picture to be selected. Wireframe would be portrait or landscape and to fit the page size. This may be suitable for standard paper sizes and unsuitable for infinite paper size

The way I do this now is I import the image, position it the way I want, export to PDF, and then insert the PDF as a new page every time I make a new page. So a workflow that produced similar results but had fewer steps would be nice.

I would want the image to fit to a standard size sheet, or also have the option to choose to have a border and choose an image size.

I think the page should have the size of the image, or at least its proportions, and then allow it to scale? So if I use a 600x400px image as background, the page proportions should be 3x2. The actual size idk, since it's vector it shouldn't matter, I guess? But at least 600x400px.

In my opinion if it was possible to import a pdf or jpg background file it will be a fantastic implementation.
