Why aren't the notes backed up every time before the app is closed? I just lost a MONTH'S worth of work because I assumed, like any other app, that the darned thing actually backed up each time I used it and not only when I did it manually! It is 2019, what the actual heck!? I am so angry that my work has been lost because of a crappy design element. And the fact that it is not made clear ANYWHERE that the backups are only done when you create them. STUPID!

If you use this app in a non trivial way, backups take a long time. When the backup is running, the app slows down significantly and becomes laggy.

Elsewhere incremental backups have been suggested and this is an excellent idea.

If you ran the backup at night, it would also solve the problem and may be much easier to implement.
