Recent colours on top, tool menu disappear on click, s-pen button functionality, ruler of some form
Absolutely love Papyrus but there are a couple of things I think would really improve the ease of use and speed. As I use this for note taking at university, time is of the essence!
Custom Templates would be fantastic, I do a lot of math work and on each new page I rule a margin and another column down the middle to write numbered problems. It would be great to simply make one and save it as a template.
When selecting a colour the menu disappears as soon as I click, which is great. But after selecting the tool I want to use the menu stays on the screen until I click away before continuing to write. I understand this is to allow for changing pen size, but really that isn't something I do often. So if you could make the menu disappear as soon as a tool is selected (or make that an option in the settings) it would be appreciated.
The recently used colours is positioned at the very bottom of the list, as I generally switch between only 2 colours - black and red (and green and blue depending on what I'm doing) it would be much easier and faster if you could switch the two 'view' buttons at the top with the 'recent' buttons at the bottom. The pen wouldn't have to travel as far this way.
I'm not sure how much use you can make of the s-pen functionality but it would be great if the button could be programed (in your options menu) to do certain things.
One would be to switch between two different colours (as I said I use black and red the most).
Another would be to bring up the tools menu in a ring around the current pen position (similar to the S-Command window) making switching tools and colours much easier and faster.
Another could be holding down the button turns the pen into an eraser, or holding it down changes to colour number two.
Again, I am unsure how much freedom you have to play with Samsung's software, but I use the dual screen function quite often to have a PDF open on one side of the screen and Papyrus on the other. Unfortunately it won't let me have two different sessions of Papyrus open at the same time. I feel this could be quite handy.
Lastly, it might be a handy tool to have some kind of ruler (that can be switched on and off). Maybe even just when using the line tool, if there was some way to know how long the line is, especially when drawing graphs and whatnot.
I think that about covers my ideas for today :) I hope you agree with some, if not all, and can implement them in the future!
Cheers
Luke
