Mustang brake pedal feels soft after highway driving, is this normal?
My Ford Mustang has this thing where after a long highway drive, the brake pedal feels a little soft when I press it, like it goes down further than usual before the car actually slows. It is not spongy all the time, mostly after I have been driving fast for a while without braking much. Then after a few normal stops in the city it feels firm again. I am not sure if I am imagining it or if something is actually wrong. The brake fluid was changed about a year ago so I do not think it is old fluid. A friend said it could be air in the lines or maybe the brake hoses are getting old. Another said it might just be heat from the discs and it is normal for a heavy car like this. I came across https://brakepadreplacementdubai.ae/brands/mustang/ while searching online and it covers Mustang brake work in Dubai. Has anyone felt this soft pedal after highway driving? What was the cause and how did you fix it? I really do not want to ignore something that could affect my stopping power. Also, should I stop driving it hard until I get it checked, or is it safe for normal use? I mostly drive to work and back, about 40 km a day, no racing or anything crazy. The car stops fine in normal city driving which is why I keep doubting myself. But that soft feeling on the highway really bothers me and I cannot shake the worry. If anyone has dealt with this on a Mustang or any heavy car, please share what happened and what it cost to sort out. Any honest advice would really help me decide what to do next.
