Does a thicker acoustic steel door always provide better sound insulation?
Thickness alone does not determine sound insulation. The internal construction, door mass, seals, frame, and installation all affect performance. A thicker door with poorly sealed edges may perform worse than a properly engineered thinner door. Compare acoustic test reports for complete door assemblies instead of choosing only by thickness.
