Issues with Cloud Server and Squid Proxy – Any Advice?
Hello everyone,
I'm currently experiencing several challenges with my cloud server [https://www.lenovo.com/gb/en/servers-storage/solutions/cloud-computing/] while utilizing the Squid Proxy. Specifically, I'm encountering the following issues:
Performance Inconsistency: The response times for requests seem to vary significantly, which is affecting the overall user experience. At times, the proxy appears to be slow, leading to increased latency for applications relying on it.
Configuration Challenges: I've been having difficulty configuring Squid Proxy to work seamlessly with my cloud environment. Despite following the documentation, certain settings do not seem to take effect, and I suspect there might be a misconfiguration.
Logging and Monitoring: I'm struggling to get adequate logging and monitoring in place. I need to track requests and responses effectively, but the current setup does not provide the insights I require to diagnose issues properly.
Caching Issues: I've noticed that some content is not being cached as expected, which defeats the purpose of using Squid Proxy for performance optimization. This could be related to cache settings, but I'm unsure how to troubleshoot this.
What I've Tried:
Reviewed and followed the Squid Proxy documentation for installation and configuration.
Adjusted cache settings in the configuration file, including increasing cache size and changing cache duration parameters.
Implemented basic logging options to capture request and response data, but the logs are not providing useful insights.
Tested different network configurations to see if latency issues are related to my cloud environment or the Squid Proxy setup.
Has anyone else encountered similar problems with their cloud server while using Squid Proxy? Any advice on troubleshooting these issues or best practices for optimizing performance and configuration would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your support!
Best,
Olivia
