Save / Export as TRANSPARENT *.png
I think they best way to support things like OneNote / Windows Journals and other Inking application would be to have the ability to save / export a page as a transparent *.png.
Why? Its really simple, if you've got it as a transparent *.png you can easily import the inked text in serveral application. This would be the best workaround.

great idea. on a tangent here, when I insert into Squid my existing (transparent background) PNGs, the zoom import window shows solid black, though, it inserts/imports properly, hopefully that can be fixed.

That would be a great OPTION to have. I certainly wouldn't want it to be the default, though.
