Please add this feature. It would be great to have the option to convert notes into text that can be copied and pasted into google docs.

The ability to write with my stylus pen, but have squid type that out into any type of text font we choose.
I have pretty bas hand writing and when taking notes in class, some teachers speed through the lesson. The faster they go the worse my penmanship becomes.
Having squid set a baseline of our handwriting and transfers then to text would be amazing.

This is available on Nebo by MyScript for multiple OS, MS OneNote on windows (with handwriting to shake recognition on iOS and Android support coming soon) it is a massive disappointment that Squid doesn't offer the and the dev team won't even comment on this thread.

Definitely interested in handwriting recognition in Squid - this would be the "killer feature" that makes Squid complete for note taking, and it's a feature I'd be happy to pay for (on a one-off basis). Agree with others that searching for notes is near impossible once you've created multiple files in Squid.

Are you going to develop this feature for android?
It would be good to have an answer...

We have students at our school who think this is critical to their work. Would love to see this added.

It would be great to have this feature in Android.
I already have quite a bunch of notes and finding things around is becoming hard. -

Can a developer please respond to this thread? This functionality would definitely provide a competitive advantage.

Would your team be willing to develop a tool for converting handwriting to text. It seems only natural that someone taking down e-notes during the big meeting might best impress the company with industry standard text. Hopefully this technology is not so far away!

Just like myscript Nebo. It'll be one for all app for every note taker.

This app is awesome and it can compete with almost any app on android. If there is handwritten to text support similar to myscript Nebo then it's super cool. Like after writing whole paragraph it's converted to text or after writing words conversion to text. I think myscript provide their handwriting to text plugins to different apps for development.

I just got a Chromebook plus and assumed Squid had OCR which was the reason I subscribe to it. Without OCR I am considering removing it as the whole purpose of both the Chromebook plus and getting Squid was to take notes in meetings and change them to text to save the pdf. I highly encourage the creators to consider this. It is clear chromebooks and other devices are going to allow for pen interfaces and this can already be seen. My son as an example got rid of his Macbook and loves his Chromebook plus which as he stated works as good or better and avoid dozens of Apple OS updates that take forever.

Allow to select a manuscript paragraph and convert it into text.

This is what I thought Squid WAS when I first installed it. You broke my basic expectations by not doing this.
Without the ability to turn my handwriting into text, Squid becomes a dead-end in my task-flow. I can't take take what I've written and insert it into a Google doc (as editable content, not as a graphic), I can't send it as an email, etc.
Squid is broken without this!
